Department of Labor’s New Overtime Regulations
The DOL has issued a new overtime rule that will take effect on July 1, 2024. The new rule increases the salary threshold for overtime eligibility, allowing salaried employees earning less than $844 per week to qualify for overtime pay. This threshold will rise to $1,128 per week starting January 1, 2025, extending overtime protections to more workers.
