Maryland: Paid Family and Medical Leave Delay
Maryland has postponed the commencement of contributions to its state-paid family and medical leave program under S.B. 828. Initially slated for an earlier start, the contributions are now set to begin on July 1, 2025. Employees will be now be able to utilize the benefits from this program starting July 1, 2026. This delay provides additional time for both employers and employees to prepare for the implementation of the program.
