California Workplace Violence Prevention Plan
California employers of any size are required to create and implement a written Workplace Violence Prevention plan beginning July 1, 2024. The plan must be easily accessible to employees and to Cal/OSHA.
The Workplace Violence Prevention plan should include effective interactive Workplace Violence Prevention training, to be conducted annually. A detailed Workplace Violence Incident Log must be maintained and kept for a minumim fo 5 years.
Employers are also required to establish a Workplace Violence reporting procedure and an emergency response plan.
The following are workplace exceptions:
Locations where employees work remotely which are not controlled by their employer
Locations that are not open to the public and has less than 10 employees
